25: A folded note

A folded note
My Alienware desktop (currently broken) is so big that I had to buy a box from them to send it back for repairs - I couldn't find a box big enough for sale anywhere else. They told me, though, that they can't send me the empty box at my work address (where I spend most of the day, woe), it has to be sent to my home address because it's the same as that of my credit card, for security reasons. OH NO, THEY DISCOVERED MY EMPTY CARBOARD BOX SMUGGLING OPERATION! I never try to discuss with helpdesk people though because I'm afraid that if I ask them to do something that diverges from their script they'll autodestruct screaming that it does not compute. Anyway, this means that I'm drawing the next episode on the laptop, so it will look even shittier than usual. I like the script of ep. 305, though, so I'm doing my best.
This strip seems to be almost everyone's favorite, as far as I know, so I'll say a few words about it.
My original idea was to have Ohforf open the wallet and find a photo portrait of the rat family. When I told my friend Gloria about this idea, she suggested that I make it even more touching, like a letter from the little rat, or something similar to those magnets that Italians sometimes have inside their cars, with a photo of the kids and the caption "Daddy don't run". It was a very good idea, because the child's drawing is a lot better than a family photo.
Incidentally, I think that this is the only episode of the comic that my mom's ever seen - and she was shocked that I'd leave those poor little rats orphaned, how cruel of me. I'd like to point out that no animals were hurt in the making of this strip. The rat is an actor and the blood is ketchup.
